Alongside my Brother PE770 embroidery sewing machine and my other rather older ‘normal’ sewing machine, I love being green! ‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’ has been my motto for a good few years within my household, but I am loving my new found creative flair because of it! Tired clothes, curtains, tablecloths, anything fabric – you name it, gets a creative eye cast over it, before being cast in a charity bag and placed on the pavement, to see what it could be transformed into! Heading off to Kefalonia in the summer, we realised we had acquired a few pairs of cheap sunglasses between us, that hadn’t come with cases. Before we went away I had purchased t shirts and shorts for the girls. Some of the t shirts were too long, so I cut off the bottoms of the tops and re stitched the hems. I then made lovely soft cases for our pairs of sunglasses, complete with embroidered monograms, to take away with us and protect them from sandy beaches etc! If I say so myself they looked fabulous!
